The 2018/19 season has proven to be a pivotal one in the Clubs history.At the start of the season we had fairly modest plans which included growing our academy structure by adding a pre academy squad and separating our u13 and u14 age groups into two squads and further establishing our presence in West Cumbria. We had planned a season of continued organic growth.
The FA North West Regional Qualifiers of the FA Futsal Youth Cup will take place on Saturday 30th March at the MMU Sports Complex in Manchester, with 3 of the Clubs academy squads proudly representing Cumberland.Carlisle Futsal Club has an academy structure in place for boys. As well as regular training the Academy has representative playing squads that compete in friendlies, cups and tournaments both in the UK and abroad. The Clubs 20 strong dedicated volunteer workforce oversee the development of each player within our Academy ensuring they are taken through the Clubs own unique Futsal Curriculum step by step so that each player graduates having maximised their Futsal playing potential.

The new performance centre launched last week in Ulverston with an initial intake of u10 players (2018/19 season). The Club have been busy putting in place the infrastructure required to ensure the Performance Centre can deliver the high quality coaching content which has become synonymous with the Carlisle Futsal Club brand since the Club launched in 2012.

2018 has been another great year for the Club and one which we can all be proud of.We are three years on from our 2015 change in strategy and it’s fair to say that the work done over the last 3 years is really paying off with a stark improvement in the level of Futsal being played by all of the teams throughout the Club.This improvement is down to a number of factors including the hardwork and dedication of all the coaching staff, parents and players throughout the Club so we would like to say a huge thank you to you all.In 2018 an improved Club infrastructure has meant we have been able to:

Club Chairman Al Tindall speaks to carlislefutsal.com on a successful season and plans for 2018/19.It has been another excellent year for the Club.Once again we've grown our academy programme in line with the plans we set out at the start of the season establishing u6, u7 and u10 squads and have strengthened the squads we already had in place with several new members joining. This success has partly been down to the fact we now have a regular games programme for all the teams including league competition, friendlies and tournaments.We have completed our first trip abroad competing in the Futsal World Cup in Barcelona winning the Silver Cup. A hugely enjoyable and educational experience which has left us with a thirst for more.The usual challenges around facility hire haven't been as prevalent. We were able to donate a set of Futsal goals to Caldew school which opened up another venue for us to use meaning we could expand into delivering sessions midweek which has enabled growth.
