Carlislefutsal.com is delighted to be able to exclusively announce the launch of Carlisle Futsal Clubs second academy centre operating outside of Carlisle. The new performance centre launched last week in Ulverston with an initial intake of u10 players (2018/19 season).
The Club have been busy putting in place the infrastructure required to ensure the Performance Centre can deliver the high quality coaching content which has become synonymous with the Carlisle Futsal Club brand since the Club launched in 2012.
Al Tindall Club Founder commented;
‘This is a really positive news for young people in South Cumbria. We have been keen to replicate what we do in Carlisle right across Cumbria and with a presence in the North (Carlisle), West (Workington) and now South (Ulverston) Cumbria we are ensuring the most talented players in the county have every opportunity to progress in the sport. We have spent several months recruiting and training up the coaching team who have observed our sessions in Carlisle and attended our coach education workshops. We know they can deliver the Clubs coaching curriculum and implement our Club Values which are so important, so its a really positive step having them onboard.’
Michael Devitt is leading the Performance Centre along with John Fitchett. Both of whom were converted to Futsal following a 2 hour introduction to Futsal session hosted by Carlisle Futsal Club earlier this year.
Michael believes players will progress quickly:
“The talent pool we have in South Cumbria is huge. This is a massive opportunity to increase Futsal knowledge and participation locally with an intention to attend national tournaments in the next 12-18 months. We have already recruited several players and are continuing to develop them whilst we search for the right players to further enhance the Centre moving forward.”
Attendance at the performance centre will initially be by invite only and a full information pack will be sent to those invited.
