Chiarella continues to add to his Super League squad with the signing of Penrith AFC midfielder Cameron Wilson, 22, Workington Reds striker Jonathan Murray,18, Sunderland based Mitchell Ventress, 19, and South Shields’ Alex Grout, 19.
Wilson who currently plays for Penrith AFC in the Northern League has struggled with injury for the last 12 months but is on the verge of returning to full fitness.
Jonny Murray who is duel registered with Penrith and Workington will fit straight into the squad. Murray is a player who came through the Carlisle United Futsal Scholarship programme ‘He has real potential in the position we call pivot in Futsal, that’s your striker position in football, he’s got good positioning and good technique and what’s really encouraging is that he was picking up the instructions I was giving in training quickly.’
Ventress and Grout have been recruited by first team coach Chris Hodgson who is based in the North East. Both players boast National League experience with Middlesbrough Futsal Club and will be welcome additions to the squad.
Al Tindall commented ‘Hodga will continue to scout the North East for players that will strengthen our squad but we are reaching a point now where we are very happy with the lads we have signed on. Its up to the group we have assembled to go out there, implement Franks strategy, work hard and then they will begin to realise their potential.’
