Ahead of the opening game of the FA Futsal Super League season Carlisle Futsal Club are delighted to announce the signing of former Carlisle United, Queen of the South, Albion Rovers and Gretna midfielder Stephen Skinner.

skinnerSkinner who is famed locally for his exploits off the field as well as on it as Chairman of former  Northern League Club Celtic Nation FC will add technical quality and experience to the young CFC squad.

Chairman Al Tindall is pleased with the signing ‘We’ve been looking for another experienced player to add to the squad, someone with composure and that know how when it comes to controlling things on court. Stephen will be new to Futsal but his vast experience and high levels of fitness will mean he can learn our systems of play quickly and I’m quite sure he will emerge as a leader in the group. This is an excellent signing and one which we hope will attract the attention of other players locally who might be cautious about getting involved in Futsal because they fear the unknown. There are huge opportunities particularly to progress to a professional level and to progress into the England squads like some of our young players are doing right now.’

Skinner is expected to make his home debut in next Sundays Super League fixture against Birmingham United. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here now.
