2018 will see the return of Carlisle Futsal Clubs innovative Futsal Development Centres as the Club aims to once again expand its Futsal offering to everyone in the Cumbria and South West Scotland region.
Following a restructure in 2015 the Club has concentrated its efforts on developing its academy elite player pathway and coaching resource. Al Tindall Club Chairman is pleased to be able to finally launch the second phase of the Clubs restructuring plans;
‘The opening of these development centres is a really important step in the Clubs development. We have spent the last 24 months growing our coaching team, shaping our academy teams and developing a competitive league competition for those teams to play in (www.theafl.uk). We are now well placed to be able to launch these development centres. They are the best way for us to ensure we provide a Futsal offering to everyone who wants to play and learn more about the sport. It has been difficult for us just focusing on the elite pathway for the last 2 years. When we launched in 2012 we wanted to provide Futsal for all but it was essential that we prioritised and thought careful about how we used the limited coaching resource we have available to best do that. We are now in a great place and also expect to be able to launch development centres in West Cumbria and South West Scotland as part of our roll out of this development centre programme later this year.’
The Clubs Futsal Development Centres are delivered in positive learning environments where players can take part in game related practices involving individual and team challenges designed to encourage players to improve their technique, individuality, communication skills, physicality, decision making and game related tactical choices. The Carlisle Futsal Coaching team is made up of volunteers who have a passion for Futsal and coaching making them the only Futsal experts around.
Players who show the ability and attitude required to progress onto the Clubs elite pathway will be invited to join one of the Clubs representative academy teams.
The first development centre will be ran by Al Tindall in Carlisle, 6-7pm on a Monday evening at Cumbria University Sports hall commencing Monday 9th April 2018 and is open to players of all abilities age 11-15. Places are bookable in 4 week blocks priced at £20.
Further development centres will launch in 2018 for age groups 6-8 and 9-11 as well as our pre-school Futsal fun centre for ages 3-6. To register your interest please click here.
