We are adding to our mens squad for the 2020/21 season with the recruitment process commencing March 2020.
Our mens team was formed in April 2019 and have this season competed with great success in the National Futsal League Championship and National Futsal League Cup. The team currently sit top of the table and are looking to secure promotion to the Premiership over the coming months.
A Futsal season follows the football season and is made up of approximately 8 home games and 8 away leagues games between September and March and then playoffs and cup finals April to June. Games are Sundays with home games kicking off 3.30pm.
There is real talent in our squad with several players representing England at youth level. Competition for places is high and securing a place in our 12 man matchday squad is not easy, but for those with the talent, intelligence and attitude the rewards are huge. We play in front of sell out crowds at the Sands Centre in National League competition and provide the opportunity to win cups, qualify for Europe and even progress down the International pathway to represent your country.
We are aware that 99% of people have never played Futsal and so probably don’t understand what makes a good Futsal player. Being a good footballer doesn’t automatically make you suitable for Futsal although there are a lot of transferable’s. The graphic below presents an idea of what we look for when identifying potential within a player. If you think you have any of these attributes and are age 15+ then we want to hear from you. Don’t worry if you don’t have them all. We have a highly experience team of coaches who will help you develop your game so that you can realise your potential.
Our mens team is underpinned by a strong Club structure, the foundation of which is our thriving academy programme which has over 150 players age 5 to 15 from around the county playing each week at our academy centres in Carlisle, Workington and Ulverston.
