u9 and u10 age groupsu10s

At this age players should be adopting Futsal techniques as a matter of habit. Ball mastery should be at a high level and players good in 1v1 attack and defence situations. There should be a focus on freedom on the ball, working in pairs around the court in attack and defence to build on the principals of match play established in our pre academy and just play programmes. The building blocks for our Club set plays should be well understood and adopted in match play automatically.

u11 and u12 age groupsU12s

At this age Futsal techniques should be engrained and performed as habit. We begin to focus on some of the more advanced Futsal tactical elements. Moving out of the foundation phase all players should be capable to a high standard in 1v1 situations so that the team can retain possession of the ball under pressure.  Working in pairs and 3 in a line is highly important as players begin to learn rotation of position as a means to generate and exploit space. Various systems of attack and defence are explored as we aim to move away from a focus on the individual to advancing team tactical play.

U13 and u14s age groupsU14s

At this age Futsal techniques should be engrained and performed as habit which allows us to begin to really focus on the detail of the more advanced Futsal tactical elements. All players should be capable to a high standard in 1v1 situations so that the team can retain possession of the ball under pressure.  Working in pairs and 3 in a line is highly important as players begin to use triggers off each other’s movements in match play to instigate rotation patterns as a means to generate and exploit space. Various systems of attack and defence are explored as the focus becomes purely on team play and not on the individual.

U15, U16 and u17 age groupsU17s

Our ultimate aim for our u17 team is to have Futsal technique engrained and performed as habit which allows us to begin to really focus on the detail of the more advanced Futsal tactical elements. All players should be capable to a high standard in 1v1 situations so that the team can retain possession of the ball under pressure.  Working in pairs and 3 in a line is highly important as players begin to use triggers off each other’s movements in match play to instigate rotation patterns as a means to generate and exploit space. Systems of attack and defence should be explored in detail with the pros and cons of all debated. The focus becomes purely on team play and not on the individual.

About our Academy

Our Academy programme aims to provide those players that are able and willing with the opportunity to progress down the elite player pathway in Futsal once they reach age 13. For those new to the sport and wanting to learn then our Performance Centres for ages 7-12 and Pre Academy for ages 4-6 provide the perfect introduction to the sport. Our aim is to provide anyone interested in learning the game of Futsal with the opportunity to do so.

All sessions are delivered in line with our club coaching curriculum which is designed to educate a player starting at the age of 4 and taking them up to the age of 18. By working through our curriculum it will ensure a player realises their full potential and hopefully progress to represent one of our Club representative teams and one day graduate to our first team Senior squad.

Why Futsal?

Dont dismiss Futsal as just 5-a-side, its a professional sport around the world with players earning up to £5k per week. It is expected the sport will turn professional in England in the coming years as TV money and sponsorship comes into the game. All the worlds best Footballers grew up playing Futsal – Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Iniest, its a fantastic tool for developing great footballers too.

Visit the Futsal explained section of our website for full detail.

Opportunities

Futsal offers fantastic opportunities for player development and the learnt skills translate onto the football field.

Futsal rules are closer to football than other forms of small sided football, as there are no walls, if the ball goes out of play possession is lost, this encourages good habits as players will try to keep possession of the ball rather than take the easy option to play off the walls, or kick the ball down field knowing the ball will remain in play.

Player Pathway

Our ambition is to create a senior mens team that will compete for the FA National Futsal Super League title. This will create a pathway for the very best in our academy into the professional game and for the best go on to win International honours. Our strategy is to spend the next 5-10 years creating players in our academy who can go on to represent our Club at the very top.

Scale

Futsal is played in a small area on a fast hard surface, which will help players to improve their speed of thought, which will allow players to make better decisions when under high pressure situations or in tight spaces in games.

Futsal is played with a small number of players, which allows players to have more touches on the ball which helps players to become more comfortable on the ball.

The ball

The Futsal ball also encourages players to pass over short distances and keep the ball on the ground as it is harder to just kick the ball in the air down field. This will help to develop good habits in players at an early age.

The Futsal ball with its reduced bounce allows players to get good control of the ball without it bouncing away, which gives players a greater confidence on the ball and encourages players to be more creative.

Cost

Every member of the Club pays an annual fee. This is split into 12 x monthly payments.

All membership fees are £25 per month plus a PayPal admin fee.

All profits generated are put back into the Club to improve coaching, equipment and development opportunities.

All of our coaches are volunteers.
