We closed the Club on the 17th March 2020 following government guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. 5 months have now passed and whilst most outdoor sports have returned the news is not as positive for indoor sports. Our governing body have not yet permitted Futsal to return but even when it does get the green light from the FA we will be reliant on indoor venues being able to operate without restriction and until this happens a return to our normal activities will not be possible.
Carlisle Futsal Club can now confirm that it has been promoted to Tier 2 of the Futsal pyramid in England and will compete in the National Futsal Series Two for the 2020/21 season. After gaining promotion to the National Futsal League Premiership North at the end of the 2019/20 season it had been envisaged that the Club would continue to compete at Tier 3 for the coming season where, due to our location, it was felt that the competition model was the best fit for our Club. However, following an internal review at the Club and a successful application process the decision has been made to compete in The National Futsal Series for the coming season on the basis that it will provide the Club with the best opportunity to realise its ambitions over the next 10 years.

Following our announcement on 17th March regarding the impact of COVID-19 on Club operations the Clubs committee have this week held further discussions with regards to how best we can serve our members.
We have been closely monitoring the governments advice so that we as a Club can play our small part in helping to mitigate the impact that COVID-19 will have on wider society.Up until yesterday evening the advice was to continue as normal, however this has now changed. As cases have begun to increase the government is now advising increased social distancing and we anticipate in due course a full lock down to be implemented.
We are adding to our mens squad for the 2020/21 season with the recruitment process commencing March 2020. Our mens team was formed in April 2019 and have this season competed with great success in the National Futsal League Championship and National Futsal League Cup. The team currently sit top of the table and are looking to secure promotion to the Premiership over the coming months.
