Carlislefutsal.com is delighted to be able to exclusively announce the launch of an exciting partnership with the newly formed Windermere Futsal Club who will become an official satellite club.
Windermere Futsal launched over the summer and held their first training session of the season this week.
Founded by Ben Longworth the futsal centre operates out of Lakes School in Windermere and currently offers weekly futsal training sessions in the area to those age 8-10 years and runs a games programme against other futsal clubs around the country. All sessions are delivered in positive learning environments where players can take part in game related practices involving individual and team challenges designed to encourage players to improve their technique, individuality, communication skills, physicality, decision making and game related tactical choices.
Carlisle Futsal Club are delighted to be supporting Windermere Futsal as an official satellite club. This will mean Carlisle Futsal Club opens up its academy curriculum and coaching resources, as well as providing access to the wider Carlisle Futsal Club team for any advice and support needed. Ben will become part of the Carlisle Futsal Club committee gaining access to how the Club works behind the scenes and will be provided any support needed to take Windemere Futsal Club in the direction he wants.
Al Tindall, Carlisle Futsal Club Acacdemy Programme Lead commented;
‘This is a really positive news for young people in the South Lakes. Ben has done incredible work creating Windermere Futsal for local children to learn and enjoy this amazing sport. The growth of futsal across the county over the last 13 years has happened when great people have come together to support each other in making a difference. Windermere Futsal will be a superb addition to the futsal landscape in Cumbria adding to Carlisle Futsal Clubs academy centres in the north and south, Barrow Futsal Clubs Senior team and now Windemere. We will be looking to expand our satellitte club programme with other futsal clubs to cover more areas in the coming months too which will only enhance the opportunity for games locally.’
Ben Longworth, Windermere Futsal founder believes players will progress quickly:
“The talent pool we have in South Cumbria is huge but the opportunities locally are not always there. This is a massive opportunity to increase futsal knowledge and participation locally with an intention to attend national tournaments in the next 12 months. Its great to be working with Carlisle who have been available to support as we have launched.”
Guest coaching sessions will take place as well and the partnership will ensure a regular games programme between each Club with a pathway to the Carlisle Futsal Club senior team available to the Windermere players.
