Club Captain Unveiled

September 12, 2019by Jalson0

After careful consideration we are pleased to announce that Tom Lucock will captain the Club for the 2019/20 season. Our mens team will this season compete in the FA affiliated National Futsal League Championship North Division and in the FA Futsal Cup.

Head coach Al Tindall commented ‘We are lucky to have an excellent group of players. Choosing a captain was never going to be easy with several excellent candidates. The coaching team have spent the last 3 months assessing all of the players, observing them in practice and competitive match play scenarios. We didn’t want to jump into making an appointment for the squad too early, the captain will set the culture for the team, so we had to get it right. We know every player in the squad will go on a learning journey this season and we need a captain that can balance the emotion of the highs and lows that comes when learning, with the natural desire to pick up as many points as possible as we aim for the play-offs. Its not going to be an easy task but Tommy has shown a great understanding of Futsal in a short space of time and has stepped up as a leader without encouragement. In our competitive games he has put in two MOM performances and in training has demanded the same standards as on a match day. He will be ably supported by the other senior members of the squad as well.’

You can buy tickets to watch Tommy and the lads in their first National Futsal League game live at Penrith Leisure Centre on Sunday 6th October against Tranmere Rovers in a 12.30 kick off by clicking here.
